realize that in many cases the use of serial numbers was not primarily
intended for dating purposes by the manufactors, some brands have kept
sequential serial numbers over the years while others have used many
different systems.
In dating an instrument an expert will keep in mind not only the #number,
but also changes in specifications that have taken place over the years.If
you are in doubt you should consult a specialist dealer.
